This week’s exotic car is the Lamborghini Huracán Performante.
If you thought it was even possible, Lamborghini has managed to release a faster and flashier sports car for the daredevils of the world today. As the name suggests, this is a high performance version of the regular Huracán model – which can already complete a quarter mile in 10.4 seconds at 135 MPH in standard form.
But, Lamborghini wasn’t satisfied. That’s why the Performante can complete a new record of 6 minutes, 52.1 seconds at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. That’s 35 seconds quicker than the regular Huracán model, which is exactly what the luxury car company wanted to introduce. Referred to as a 360-degre approach by company owners, the Perfomante achieves more power with weight reduction, suspension improvements, and the addition of an aerodynamic package.
Background
Fitted with titanium intake valves, the Performante boasts a greater duration and lift than its base model counterpart. Coupled with a freer-flowing exhaust system and less restrictive air filter, the car comes with 29 more ponies for a total of 631 at 8000 rpm. Peak torque increases have also been increased by 30lb-ft to 443 at an uncharged 65000 rpm.
Fitted with more carbon-fiber parts to achieve a lighter weight, the sports car is able to hit faster speeds than most other models on the market. The car also comes with a power to weight ratio that is 7% better than the base Huracán model.
Forged with a front spoiler that boasts active flaps on the top surface in conjunction with two ducts on the rear engine cover, connected to the inner channels of the rear wing, when the flaps are shut, the wings act like a traditional spoiler, inserting vertical downforce. Simply stated: hitting top speeds feels as smooth and as effortless as possible when you’re behind the wheel of this exotic car.
